A long history of serving the special and unique needs of our U.S. military gives Western a true appreciation and respect for its challenges...Challenges which include confidentiality, special security clearances and the resources to manage the scope of the demands.
In the 70’s Western was called upon to fumigate missile silos infested with snails.
In the 80’s, 126 Fort Bragg M-109’s were being exported to Norway. In two days the armored personnel carriers were all treated, loaded onto ocean vessels and on their way.
In the 90’s, ships returning after the closing of American military bases in Europe, brought back not only live munitions and equipment, they brought back the European Gypsy moths...Lots of them! Before discharging, the entire, intact vessel had to be fumigated.
An unanticipated fumigation can be a critical impediment to military operations. Problems need to be resolved quickly, efficiently and with the highest level of confidentiality.
Western’s extensive pre and post employee screening program is critical to satisfying special security clearances. Manpower, patented equipment and our status as a fumigant distributor assure a secure chain of custody; and position Western for any challenge or situation.
