Efficient. Effective. Experienced. Western Fumigation
Profume, methyl iodide, methyl iodine, sulfuryl fluoride, vikane

Throughout our history, we’ve set performance standards for the fumigation industry. We developed the key training programs for the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) – and we continue to monitor, meet and exceed the constantly changing regulations that govern safe and effective fumigation service and the handling of fumigants.

Western uses a wide variety of fumigants depending on the needs of our customers. Our stewardship program for storing, handling and using these fumigants exceeds all industry standards.

Methyl bromide – the chemical most commonly used in fumigations – continues to be a necessary and effective fumigant that our customers need until viable alternatives are found. Through a combination of product stewardship, careful training and efficient application, Western minimizes the potential risks associated with methyl bromide use. For example, we use only U.S.- manufactured methyl bromide delivered directly from the manufacturer – not through a distributor. This establishes a “chain of custody” that eliminates opportunities for contamination and other risks.

Western has long been committed to the search for safe, effective alternatives to methyl bromide. As members of the Crop Protection Coalition (CPC) since 1991, we have sponsored the Methyl Bromide Alternatives Outreach Conference. While we continue the search, we closely monitor the changing regulations that govern the use of this fumigant.
