Commercial Fogging - Western Fumigation

Industrial Fogging

No facility is too large for our fogging service.

WHY INDUSTRIAL FOGGING?

Industrial fogging is the answer when you have a large facility and need to treat a very large area. It’s not only the best choice for a quick knock down of your insect problem, but it is the solution that will help you open your doors back up quickly. A pause in production costs you money every moment you aren’t working. Our commercial fogging services are the solution to get you back to business quickly.
Our large volume industrial fogger, unlike typical units, enables lightning-speed fogging dispersal and distribution to do the job quickly and effectively no matter what size your building is. While not the same as fumigation, fogging will knock down inbound infestations quickly at a more affordable rate to get you back up and running quickly.

How long does fogging take?

Fogging is generally done after hours or on weekended to allow for proper application time. Fogging can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 5 hours to be applied depending on the size of the structure. Additional time for aeration would be needed – usually between 2 -8 hours before reentry.

What’s the difference between fogging and fumigation?

Fumigation uses gas for insect elimination while fogging uses ULV spatial treatment. Fumigation requires more preparation and longer downtimes with a higher cost while fogging is a faster process for immediate results with a lower price point. There are times to use each one and Western Fumigation will help you decide which is right for you.

What pests does fogging treat for?

Fogging is best for stored product pests that are flying and crawling since the product treats the space in a way that would be most effective on those types of pests.

Is fogging safe for me, my employees, and my facility?

When using a professional company, the proper PPE, and a vacant space, yes, this application is safe. A trained service team will ensure that all safety protocols are followed, and the application has the best results.

When should I fog my location and how often?

It depends. If your business has a threshold set up, a fogging solution should be one of your corrective actions. If you don’t have thresholds, Western Fumigation can evaluate what solution would be best based on the activity levels at the time of inspection. Some locations can be fogged weekly and others once or twice a year.

Are all fogging treatments the same?

No, all fogging treatments are not the same. They vary significantly by technology (thermal vs. ULV), micron size, and desired outcome. The highly trained technicians at Western Fumigation will use the correct fogging treatment for you, your facility, and the pests you’re dealing with. Ceiling mounted systems may be convenient, but they are less effective than using a mobile unit.

What do I have to do to prepare for fogging?

First, ensure no one is working or present in building at time of service. Then make sure to remove and or cover any exposed food or food handling surfaces and remove or cover any food handling or processing equipment. Also, turn off all pilot lights (such as heaters) in rooms or areas being fogged. Turn off any fans or air movement systems and work with your alarm company to place any alarm/smoke detectors on test mode.

What do I have to do after fogging?

Once the all-clear is given by your fogging team, you can return to your building. Then, open doors and turn on fans or ventilation system before re-entry. Wash or clean all exposed food processing equipment before use. And work with your alarm company to turn off test mode on alarm or smoke detectors.
